ISKCON Malda
Your gateway to the Dham...
Iskcon Founder-acharya Srila AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada
While performing saṅkīrtana in Rāmakeli-grāma, the Lord danced and sometimes lost consciousness due
to love of God. While at Rāmakeli-grāma, an unlimited number of people came to see His lotus feet.
CC Madhya 1.167
In the Bhakti-ratnākara it is stated that Sanātana Gosvāmī's spiritual
master, Vidyā-vācaspati, sometimes stayed in the village of Rāmakeli, and he studied all
the Vedic literatures from him.

Book Launch on Bhumi Puja Day
On Bhumi Puja day, a guide book with full details of the holy places and pastimes of Ramakeli Dham will be launched. It is called "Gourer Pran Ramkeli". It is in Bengali - shortly after, an English version will be available.

Ramakeli
Ramakeli is where the Radha-Madana-Mohana deities were worshipped by Sri Sanatana Goswami. Beside
the temple is the spot where Rupa and Sanatana first encountered Lord Chaitanya and fell at His
feet.
Close by, a small temple has been constructed under a Kadamba tree, which contains Sri Chaitanya's
footprints on stone.
The two lakes next to the temple built by Sanatana Goswami are replicas of Radha Kunda and Syama
Kunda in Vrindavana. The area surrounding the lakes is known as Gupta (“Hidden”) Vrindavana.
The nephew, Jiva Goswami, was still young at the time, but he witnessed many of his uncles' pastimes
in Ramkeli. Later he joined his uncles in Vrindavan. He was two and a half years old when his uncles
surrendered to Lord Chaitanya, and witnessed the occasion from behind a tree - a small temple has
been built in the place from where he took darshan of Lord Chaitanya.
A few Kilometers away is the prison where Sanatana Goswami was held by an angry Nawab Hussein Shah
who could not tolerate Sanatan being unwilling to continue running his kingdom, especially as Rupa
had already left for Vrindavan. Sanatan managed to bribe the guards to set him free after spending
over nineteen months inside, and joined his brother in Vrindavan.

Ramakeli Festival
Every year, on the Jaishthya Sankranti (14-15 June), celebrations are held here to commemorate the arrival of Lord Chaitanya at Ramakeli. Vaishnav devotees from all over India gather here at this time where devotional songs are performed. A village fair is also held at this time.
